Jesus said, " ...yet, not my will, but yours be done."

From what we read in Luke 22:42, it is well to do what our Heavenly Father would have us do.

Yet, doesn't that vary with who we believe our Supreme Guide is ...and what we believe we are called to do??

What do we think of jihad?  And even the meaning of that is often distorted ...to mean what men would desire it to mean for a time, to achieve what they want to see happen.

What if I were in a room with others, some of them praying for my destruction?  Would that seem like a good thing??  And to whom???

Even if they are not praying in a way that I may feel unsafe or threatened, I would not wish ill upon anyone else in the group either.  If I felt someone was in error, and I believed their error could hurt them, what does that say of me if I just apathetically view it as their problem, not mine??

And do you label me as something other than I am ...if I truly believe what I think, and act out of compassion because of my beliefs?  Do you ignore my compassion, and say I am not compassionate??

If you were filming a movie, and I came onto the scene ...thinking it was real, and ran into the burning house to save the screaming child, would you be angry because I ruined the scene?  Or would you admire me for my bravery, and compassion for others?

But, what if you thought it was a movie ...yet it was real??

I know of an actual incident of a homeless man being hit by a car on Halloween.  His body flew into someone's yard where there were other Halloween decorations.  It was a hit-and-run ...and there wasn't anyone around who had seen it.

What many people did see ...was the addition of the body in the yard.  And they thought it was a nice touch.

They actually liked it!!

They didn't think it was real ...but it was real.

Which scenario would be more disturbing?

  • Believing that the screaming child needs rescuing, and acting on that ...ruining that filming segment
  • Not believing the body is real, and delaying any possible medical attention that could save the man

I believe the Bible is real ...and I believe it is beneficial only to pray according to the Word of God.

We are not to pray to Baal ...or any other.

The first three of the Ten Commandments addresses how we are to address God.

Aside from going to church ...do we view Sunday, or the Sabbath as any different than any other day?

Do we honor each other ...or our parents?

Do we try to destroy others with our words?

Are we faithful in our relationships?

Do we do anything dishonest ...if we feel it is not that significant or everyone does it or we can get away with it???

Are we honest with our words, as well as with our actions??

Do we bicker over what we are provided ...either by as we view it by our loved ones, or by God??

And if we fail on so many of these levels ...we certainly need a Savior.

But, we also need to know that we need a Savior.

Yet, though few would say we would get an ambulance if we dialed a wrong number ...if the number we reached knew we needed an ambulance, they could call the number for us.  We would still have the option to refuse the ambulance when it arrived ...and also be angry at whoever called them.

If  we needed an ambulance to save our life, and they somehow happened to call us ...would we refuse to answer, or hang up???

And what advantage would it be if we got a call ...and it was a prank??

God is calling us ...and many will testify to the fact that it is not a prank.  The Holy Spirit is working to break down walls, and soften our heart ...and God sent His Son to convince us of His love.  We don't make up who we think Jesus is, what He did, or what He said ...many testified to that, and it is written in the Bible.

Compassionately, I say, believe it!!!
